Maldives Market Survey
Project Details
Contracted by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure (MoCHI), and under guidance of the World Bank MUDRP task team, the Maldives Affordable Housing Program Development Market Survey aims to support MoCHI in assessing the impact and effectiveness of government social housing programs. This initiative is closely aligned with the Government’s recent approval of the “Affordability and Accessibility Project,” which aims to provide a sustainable, long-term solution to the country’s housing challenges and foster a more affordable housing market.
Alongside this market survey, the MUDRP project is concurrently implementing two additional assignments; Demand-side Affordable Housing Reform Roadmap Recommendations and Supply-side Affordable Housing Reform Roadmap Recommendations, both of which AHI plays a key role in. The market survey will be undertaken in close collaboration with these two assignments to ensure the accuracy and validity of the questionnaires, as well as the effective design and implementation of the project. These insights will inform the development of alternative reform designs that address both the demand and supply sides of the housing sector, with the goal of providing more responsive and affordable housing solutions.
