Project Details

As the real estate and financial advisor for the project, AHI structured the creation of the development plan in three stages – (i) Development Scenarios, (ii) Development Concept Note, and (iii) Development Plan. These stages were closely aligned with common planning and real estate best practices. This process allowed for continuous engagement of key government stakeholders in the decision-making process, and the inclusion of increasing financial details tailored to the site and community’s socio-economic situation. The project called for the development of 148 units, including infrastructure, services, and some urban amenities in a 5.6 hectare site located at the entrance of Titanyen, north of the capital Port-au-Prince, and approximately 8 km from Cabaret. Working with UNOPS, AHI provided a Development Plan for the site in Titanyen. The goals for this project included developing the site through an integrated approach, enabling strong participatory processes and the creation of governance bodies and programs to allow the necessary institutional involvement, and demonstrating financial feasibility and replicability by providing a financially sound and operationally practical model for affordable housing development in Haiti.
