ABOUT THE CLIENT

As the BHA-designated Local Tenant Organization, the Charlestown Resident Alliance (CRA) is the advocate for the 1,100 public housing households at Bunker Hill. For over four years, has been at the table with the Boston Housing Authority, and the designated development team (Leggat McCall Properties and Joseph J. Corcoran Company) in many different tri-party meetings negotiating key provisions of the proposed redevelopment, everything from apartment layouts to resident protections to potential amenities, open space, and resident programming.

In support of CRA’s major and ongoing work, AHI is proud to be part of a skilled team of experts:

Affordable Housing Institute

Affordable Housing Institute is the affordable housing finance and policy advisor to the CRA. In addition to being the financial advisor, AHI has helped the CRA build its long-term programming and planning capacity.

Greater Boston Legal Services

Housing attorneys at Greater Boston Legal Services provided expert legal and strategic advice to the CRA on all issues raised in negotiations with the developers, the Boston Housing Authority, and their respective legal counsel.

Nixon Peabody

Attorneys at Nixon Peabody’s Boston office played an important role in negotiating and documenting governance-related issues between the CRA and the developers and the Boston Housing Authority.

Reisen Design Associates

Reisen Design is the design and planning advisor for the CRA. During countless meetings with the Boston Housing Authority and the developer, Reisen Design advocated for CRA’s vision of what the future of Charlestown should look and feel like.
