The Rehousing Ukraine Initiative – a head start on national recovery
It all started with a wry email to my long-time friend David Smith, AHI’s founder, and CEO.
Fast-forward seven months, 1,000+ more emails from me and goodness knows how many from David and our Rehousing Ukraine partners we’ve encountered and joined with, and AHI is helping to kickstart Ukraine’s rebuilding and national recovery.
Rehousing Ukraine: A Fundamental Building Block to Recovery
Since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, we have witnessed an outpouring of solidarity initiatives in support of the Ukrainian people. These initiatives have come from organizations, institutions, companies, and people. They range in scope from grassroots actions to host fleeing Ukrainians to the commitment of substantial aid packages by other States.
But how this support will convert to activity that enables the reconstruction of the country is not a straightforward process.
Our Work
For over 17 years, we have created positive impact on affordable housing ecosystems around the world, formal and informal, at a range of income levels. Working directly with mission-oriented customers our solutions have included policy reforms, structured public-private partnerships, refinancing facilities, organizational growth business plans, and the design of financial products.
As recognized thought leaders in the field we have led executive education courses, facilitated workshops on organizational change, and invented new frameworks for analysis.
